Designer Wanted was a project created in partnership between Studio Estampar and beachwear brand Origens, with one main goal: to open doors for new talent and give emerging designers a real chance to work in the fashion industry.
The idea was simple. We launched the project on Instagram and invited people to tag, in the comments, designers they believed in — creative people with talent, potential, and the ability to build a career creating artwork for clothing brands. All you had to do was tag a designer.
The response was bigger than we expected. In just one week, the post received more than 3,000 comments.
From all those nominations, we went through a careful selection process and chose three designers to take part in the project. And one important detail: the entire experience was 100% free for the selected designers. There were no fees or costs to participate.
The three selected creatives then joined me at Studio Estampar for a hands-on course, where they learned more about the creative and production process behind apparel graphics — from the first idea to the final printed product.
But the experience didn’t stop there.
They were also invited to work alongside Origens on the creation of a special collection inspired by tourism, culture, and the identity of our state, giving them the opportunity to turn their ideas into real products.
More than choosing three designers, the project showed how much creative talent is out there, sometimes just waiting for the right opportunity to be seen.
Sometimes, the beginning of a career can be as simple as someone looking at your work and saying: “I believe in you.”
